In June 1941, the Firm "bell" began to develop on the basis of the fighter P-39 new aircraft with a more powerful engine and improved aerodynamics. This modification had a slightly larger size and laminar wing profile. Due to the fact that the new engine was not yet ready, the first prototype flew with the engine "Alison" V 1710-47. The tests lasted until 1944. In the summer of 1944, the aircraft was given the name "Kinkora".
