the Flanker-D is an all-weather air defense fighter aircraft designed by Dry and manufactured by KnAAPO. It is derived from the su-27 "Flanker" and was originally known as the su-27K. The aircraft was first used in operations in 1995, on Board the air carrier Admiral Kuznetsov. He officially entered the service in August 1998, and by that time the designation "su-33"had been used.
