Merkava Mk.3D LIC MBT is a modification of the Israeli MBT Merkava Mk.3.
Since the 1990s, the importance of the effectiveness of armored forces in urban combat has been increasing. This led to the development of Merkava Mk.3D LIC MBT. The tank has a number of improvements for use in low-intensity battles in the city. Additional protection is installed on the tower surveillance devices, in connection with the threat of anti-tank mines and improvised explosive devices, additional protection is installed under the bottom of the tank. The latest modification, Merkava Mk.3D Late LIC, has optimized additional tower armor for better protection.
