Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger Ausf.E, often shortened to "Tiger" was the answer to well-armored Soviet vehicles such as the T-34 and KV-1. Tiger I was the first tank with 88 mm gun. The tank was often manned by separate tank battalions, which were a very formidable combat unit.The construction of the Tiger required huge expenditures of resources and labor. From August 1942 to August 1944 was built only 1 347 pieces.
