BRDM-2 (Armored Reconnaissance Patrol Vehicle-2) — is a further development of BRDM-1. It was serially produced from 1963 to 1982 by Gorky automobile plant and from 1982 to 1989 by Arzamas machine-building plant (and also under license in Poland, Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia). BRDM-2 has low security, armor protects against bullets of small arms and splinters.
